Funny Story

This is a funny story a co-worker told me about one of her students that I just had to share. I have his big sister in my class and I know this kid pretty well. Just imagine someone really little, cute, and can't hold still for nothing and you've got the visual of Kelly.

The teacher was just sitting there talking to Kelly about all sorts of general stuff. They were talking about how he was named after his dad but Kelly said his dad was in prison for breaking into people's house (don't worry, this is not the funny part).

Kelly - "When I grow up, I'm not going to break into houses, I am going to buy me a big blue house."

Teacher - "Will your house be here in Saginaw?"

Kelly - "No way, it will be down south in Flint of course."

Apparently Kelly went on to describe all the other things he was going to buy for his new house, all of which were just cute and then said this...

Kelly - "and I'm going to have me a big blue car too, with blue training wheels too."

Teacher - "Training wheels, why do you need those?"

Kelly - "You didn't think I could drive a car without them did you? I'm not old enough!"

You would have to know Kelly(who falls out of chairs on a regular basis), but it is still really funny. I love when kids transfer their knowledge of other things (like bikes) incorrectly to cars. We had a good laugh over this one.
