Make up your minds people

Okay, I admit. I have a horrible time making decisions. I often blame it on being a middle child but truefully, I just don't like to strain my brain. It's all the little decisions that just add up too much for one day that makes me want to make less decisions on things like "What do you want for supper?"

However, one decision that I find very easy is choosing to travel with the young group for holiday weekends. Even though this is my 12th (seriously) year of traveling, I still enjoy it at this point. However, the rest of my young group is DRIVING ME MAD! We leave on Saturday morning and I still have 5 unsures on which trip they are going to (we were invited 2 places) or if they are going at all. Now people, this really isn't that difficult. Pick one and move on! It makes it really hard to figure out what vehicles we are driving when 1/2 the group wants to make the decision last minute. Pick already! We leave in 4 days.

Okay, glad to get that off my chest. Seriously though, the only one that had any right to be "uncertain" at this point was Jamie, and we all found out yesterday why she was saying that up until now.

I digress but.....Congratulations Jamie and Nathan - so happy for you both. It is so encouraging to see 2 people following God's lead to each other. Now (after 6 years with 0 weddings) we have to prepare for Bay City's 3rd wedding this year!

Back to the point of this blog --- I (the queen of indecision) am getting very impatient with my young group not making decisions. I need to go read up on some verses about patiences!

It's been a really LONGGGGG Day!

It's been a really LONGGGG Day. I am too tired to go into details right now, but I will blog it tomorrow. Meanwhile enjoy these you might be a teacher if comments and feel free to add your own. I think I hit all of these at some point today. I added my own comments after the dashes----

You might be a teacher if...

You want to slap the next person who says, "Must be nice to have all your holidays and summers free." ---I was thinking more like sucker punch

You can tell it's a full moon without ever looking outside. ----every month, trust me.

You believe "shallow gene pool" should have it's own box on the report card. ----Right next to can't close their mouth!

When out in public, you feel the urge to talk to strange children and correct their behavior. ---or run the other way when you see kids

When you mention "vegetables" and you're not talking about a food group. ---- especially at the end of the school year.

You think people should be required to get a government permit before being allowed to reproduce. ---- they should have to get a doctoral degree before having children.

You wonder how some parents ever MANAGED to reproduce. ---honestly, this has crossed my mind.

You can't have children of your own, because there is NO name you could give a child that wouldn't bring on high blood pressure the moment you heard it.
------ case in point, I used to love the name Joshua. After 2 years with a Joshua in class, my friends named Joshua are lucky I still speak to them or that I haven't given them a new name.---------

Meeting a child's parents INSTANTLY answers the question, "Why is this kid like this?" ----I don't know I single living teacher that hasn't experienced this!

I HAVE LILACS!!!!

I HAVE LILACS!!!!

--okay, side note----I was so excited I published the blog with no message --editing

BUT I HAVE LILACS.

Adam mentioned after he mowed the lawn that he thought one of my trees in the back of my backyard had lilacs. I thought I had checked them earlier but apparently not. So after squealing with giddy joy for a few moments, I flew to my backyard and stuck my nose in them right away.

Okay, it didn't happen quite like that, but I girl can exaggerate a little, can't she.

Did I mention the tree is half dead and sick looking and only had about 10 bunches of lilacs on it?
BUT...I HAVE LILACS!

They are of the dark purple variety and right now they are making my kitchen smell awesome.

So happy right now!!!!

I also have a really pretty pink flowering tree (which is much more healthy I might add).

But the important thing is I HAVE LILACS.

and just in case you weren't sure, I LOVE LILACS!

Can't you almost smell summer!

Okay, I am ready for summer. It's like it is right there, I just can't get there yet! I took a day off today to get some things done around my house, I accomplished about 1/3 of what I wanted to, but that's more than I usually get done!

okay - 10 minute distraction named Mikayla - I am back.

Where was I , oh yes...summer...I can almost smell it coming. The trees are starting to bloom and the lilacs are just starting to bloom...summer is almost here.

That makes me very happy.

I love summer...Why you ask, I'll tell you...

1. NO SCHOOL
2. NO WINTER COATS
3. MARYANN IS HOME FOR 2 MONTHS!!!!
4. VACATIONS
5. LOTS OF YOUNG GROUP INVITES
6. FLOWERS
7. BIKE RIDES
8. SUNSHINE
9. HAMMOCKS (not that I have one, but I can dream)

Sorry, another Mikayla distraction. Grandma is too occupied and she needs a distraction. Me, I need to get outside in the beautiful weather!!!!

Surprisingly Chipper..

I am surprisingly chipper this early evening considering the week I had.

Wedding stuff all day Saturday and Sunday on top of then the funeral home and a funeral on Monday.

Good news was that I managed to stay on my two feet and Brandon didn't stop in the aisle to entertain the crowd.

I am sunburned though....memo to self to wear sunscreen for Julie's wedding photos

Last night, took a spur of the moment trip to Toledo with Chet - was lots of fun, got home at 1am, didn't get much sleep yet still very awake.

That is my weekly update. Maybe I will actually sit down and type next week!
