Postings may be brief for a time

My postings may be brief for a couple of days, I am in the process of moving.

I am super woman - I am putting together my own end tables. Me and a hammer and a screwdriver, it's a good life.

I also had the experience of mowing my first lawn yesterday. Afterwhich I dropped into a chair in my living room with ice water for about 30 minutes without moving. Let's just say it was a spur of the moment lawn mow and I wasn't appropriating dressed for the 85+ heat while lawn mowing. What I learned from it, never try to mow the lawn in a heavy jean skirt. Also, I only did the back yard because I was so bad at it I didn't want my introduction to the neighborhood to be everyone laughing at me while watching me mow my lawn. Let's just say, I don't turn well...

Lawn mowing in an art, Becs. You have to attack it like you do shaving your legs - you mow a row and then move over, yet that new row contains a little of the old row to make sure you didn't miss anything.

Jean skirts aren't good for anything when it's hot and humid.

And to turn ya gotta do little pop-a-wheelies. And since the edged would then be long, I always took and extra swipe around the perimeter of the yard. But if you do a little pop-a-wheely you can turn on a dime.

And Maryanne's right. Long jean skirts and hot, humid weather are like oil and water. What you need is something thinner. My friend, Beth, made a skirt out of a bedsheet once. That would be perfect.

The problem is I don't do anything in straight rows.

Biggest problem is that I can't turn the stupid lawn mower without killing myself. Once a got the pop-a-wheelies down pat it improved but I don't have Julie's talent of turning on a dime.

Would making a skirt our of a bedsheet invovle any type of sewing, cause I am even worse at that then I am lawn mowing.

Well, it may not involve any sewing if you have someone else do it for you....
