So, I got my official pink slip...
So, I got my official pink slip on Monday (which, by the way, is not even pink). The whole process took an entire 2 minutes and then I went back to teaching my kids. However, it has spurred me to become a bit of a rebel. I took a half day today so I could avoid a staff meeting taking place at the building our students are suppose to be moving to. Why? Because A) the majority of our students aren't really going there and B) It's not my job to sell parents on sending their child to that particular school and C) I am just not in the mood!
Chances of me getting called back - Pretty good, I am in the top 50 of those laid off.
Chance of me trying to get a new job elsewhere - Even higher. I am ready for a change.
For some reason a song called I'm alright has been going through my head since Monday. The chorus goes something like this (from my head, not quoted directly)
...Because I'm alright. Troubles may find me but there not going to bring me down.
Cause I'll hold on tight to the Father who loves me, He likes having me around
Cause He loves me and He cares for me and so I'll be...Alright.
The SEA (Saginaw Education Association -AKA our union that I pay outrageous dues to) sent out an e-mail asking teachers district wide to where pink or red on Friday in support of all the teachers being laid off. Should make for an interesting day.

Sorry I didn't call this evening. I've been really dizzy--that's not even the right word--but somethings been weird in my head the past two days and after our staff meeting I just came home and held still. It was weird. Then when I was feeling up to calling it was after 10 your time and I didn't want to take the chance that you actually went to bed.
I can't wait for you to come here. Beware that Roxy won't let it drop that you should come here to teach. I just want to hang out, watch movies, paint pottery, and eat bad stuff.
I love you.
And I like those lyrics, but can't place the song.
PROVERBS 3:5&6!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's live it!

FFH - I used to always skip it on the cd so I can't figure out why it's in my head. I think it's from one of the first cds
Tell Aunt Roxy she will have to sell my house for me first and then drive a moving van, because I refuse to drive to AZ again.
yup, like your plan for my visit. I need to soak up some sun. I have figured out where I need my tan lines to be for both weddings and I need to get started on it now so I don't look werid with a tan line showing in my bridesmaid dress.
I hate when we are on the 3 hour time change.
